Encouraging a child to drop out of school is criminal. Whether this young man has the talent or not, isn't the point. A 16 year old living the life of a major league player spells doom on so many levels.
A player his age will not be able to live up to the mental demands it takes to be a professional. Plus the jump he is going to be making is just too much. He was playing little league just a couple years ago.
My grandfather was recruited by the NY Yankees when a sophomore in high school. He never regretted his decision to get his diploma instead. After graduation he played shortstop on the Toledo Mud Hens.
well anonymous number two Your grandfather went from major high payin leagues to the mudhens come on. he went from makin a livin to not even a parttime job. i believe its the kids decision and should remain that way. if hes got a gift let him decide if he wants to take off. besides u get hurt at a job u collect workmenscomp but before that theres a pain staking waiting time. with major leagues, you sign a contacted and yourse on a hurt bases and they,ll put you as priority for get help fast. Money out of their pocket.
(p.s. i dont fully agree with it but i believe in equal opinions)
